T-SHIRT UNTUK CRNI/ T-SHIRT FOR CRNI

T-SHIRT FOR CRNI

The Cartoonist Rights Network International (CRNI)'s director, Dr Robert Russell contacted me after watching this video http://www.eitb.com/es/videos/detalle/771050/el-dibujante-vinetas-zunar-festival-zentsura-at-bilbao/   and asked me how to get/buy the t-shirt that I wore in the video.

Actually the t-shirt was designed for facebook-based closed group, Kelab Kartunis Independen (KKI), an independent cartoonist group which includes Jonos, Ronasina, Johnny Ong and Azmie Taha, among others.
Dr Russell, also known as Bro, is one of three individuals who was responsible for promoting me on the international arena.

The other two are Prof. John E. Lent, who lectures at the School of Communication & Theatre, Temple University, Philadelphia, and Ms. Sophie Lemière, a French and researcher at the contemporary Southeast Asia of Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS) at Nanyang Technological University of Singapore.

A very humble person, as I know him. Bro asked whether I could send some of the T-shirts to be sold in Washington for CRNI's fund. I told him that it is not practical as the postal cost would be very expensive and futhermore the size is not meant for Americans.

I suggested to him however, if I could develop and adjust the design, and send the artwork to CRNI. He agreed and after three days, I emailed the artwork to him. After a few adjustmen, he liked it. He then asked my permission to print the design onto t-shirts to be sold to collect fund fo CRNI.

Of course I agreed. My contribution is very small compared to what Bro has been doing to support and protect the rights of cartoonists from Asia, Middle-East, Africa and Latin America.

If my design is accepted, it will certainly be an honour.
